Surprise! Surprise! Fixed it looking for "support" on. I found an envelope template in WORD that will print so I guess some glitch has been introduced to both the regular documents for envelopes I have been using for years and my mail merge documents used for a couple of years. Additionally the Apple provided PAGES program prints envelopes just fine, though I can't easily do a mail merge. I went through Epson's installation instructions went the replacement arrived and followed your instructions without change.Īs annoyed as I am with the last Epson printer I'll buy I don't think the devil is in the printer as regular documents print fine. Before contacting Epson I updated drivers, just The problem had been ink spots on printouts, sometimes smearing, especially on envelopes. Thanks for these suggestions, the heads were not clogged, the printer is new a warranty replacement for same model. I wonder what I'm missing, there must be some setting that is not correct, what should I be looking for?

Only yesterday I updated the Mac OS to 10.13.1 hoping that perhaps this would fix the problem.It hasn't, however, envelopes will print using the Apple Pages program that was part of the package provided with the computer purchase, a replacement in September. After installing the printer envelopes printed the same reversed manner and then stopped printing altogether on either printer. Before the printer was replaced there was an issue with the mail merge envelopes printing, such that the first envelope would pass throughīlank and then envelopes would alternate, ie, what is first through on one is last through on the next. I was able to print until the XP-640 printer began to intermittantly smear ink and a replacement was supplied by Epson. Mail merge appears complete when previewed in Word, when I go to print the print preview is blank and when I attempt to print the envelopes go through Neither regular previously used and saved envelopes to regularly used addresses nor mail merge will print.
